Product Description

Financial arrangement rules are changing, with important implications for accountants advising clients with offshore assets, foreign-currency funding arrangements and certain company/shareholder balances.

This practical one-hour webinar examines the recent changes to the financial arrangement rules, including the revised cash-basis eligibility requirements and new rules applying to companies struck off the Companies Register while still owing funds to shareholders or their associates.

Stephen Richards will also examine proposed changes to the treatment of foreign-currency bank accounts, loans and investments. Of particular interest are proposals to remove specified low-risk foreign-currency arrangements from the financial arrangement rules altogether.

The session is designed to help practitioners understand what has changed, what is proposed, and what these developments could mean for their clients.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

• Accountants in public practice
• Accountants advising migrants and returning New Zealanders
• Accountants with clients holding offshore bank accounts, loans, bonds or mortgages
• Financial controllers dealing with foreign-currency funding arrangements
